TRUFFLE HUNTING IN THE STUNNING CRETE SENESI
The tour takes place in a private truffle farm located in the beautiful Crete Senesi (nearby Siena).
Valentino hold his “special lessons” throughout the year except for May, when the Region prohibits the search of truffles in order to preserve animals´ well being and protect the environment.
The tour usually start in the morning at 10 a.m. or in the afternoon at 5 p.m., according to the season and weather conditions; the most indicated moments are fresher hours during summer and central, warmer hours during winter. We recommend comfortable clothing, such as boots during the winter and hiking shoes in summer.
Guests will be greeted on their arrival from the owners of the farm, Valentino and Elena.
Valentino is the truffle hunter, and he will take you on a thrilling excursion in the nearby woods along with his experienced and very nice dogs. During truffle search Valentino will transmit you his great passion and experience giving you all the information you need; he will teach you everything about truffle, providing you with all the instruments to understand how to clean, store and enjoy it.
After the truffle hunting enjoy a nice light lunch/ tasting at Valentino´s. It will be nice to eat with Elena and Valentino in their country house, under the shadow of a tree with a good glass of wine, while appreciating a wonderful view on Val d’Orcia.

— This tour can be organized for groups at least 10 up to 30 persons.
— The location it´s very rural and authentic. In case of bad weather, this tour it is not available.
— Truffle has a specific calendar regarding the harvesting season, so we will advice you depending on the season.
— Distances: 1 hour and half from Florence – 2 hours from Rome – 50 minutes from Siena – 1 hour and 15 minutes from Perugia
