Spend a day in the world of the Etruscan civilization!
Enjoy a guided visit of the marvelous hill of Monterozzi -one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites of the whole Mediterranean area. The necropolis of Tarquinia, also known as Monterozzi, contains 6,000 graves cut in the rock. It is famous for its 200 painted tombs, the earliest of which dates back to the 7th century BC.
After the visit of the necropolis enjoy some free time to have lunch.
In the afternoon, after having visited the Medieval city of Tarquinia, we join “the last Etruscan”: Mr. Omero! He is for sure one of the most interesting and talented artist; he describes himself as an artist who creates “contemporary Etruscan” pieces. Having being a self-professed tombarolo, or tomb robber, today he is the founder of a private museum where it shows his replicas of the artistic handiwork of the antique Italian folk. Mr. Omero, is a colorful local character, smart and with a great knowledge of antique arts. Visiting his private museum will be very interesting and amusing.
