Our day will start with a visit of the Medieval town of Tarquinia and the noteworthy Monterozzi archeological area, declared World UNESCO Heritage Site in 2004. Here you will have the chance to admire hundreds of painted Etruscan tombs. Enjoy some “Etruscan shopping” in Tarquinia: you will have the possibility to purchase antique pieces produced with the original Etruscan techniques.
At lunch time we move to Nonna Pina´s farm.
The farm is located between the sea and the wood. Here Otello, the owner of the farm and Nonna Pina´s grandson will lead us at the discovery of their wine aging cellar. Enjoy a light lunch with their extraordinary products! If the season permits, the lunch will be served outside, in front of the wood that surrounds the farm with a beautiful sea view.
Afterwards, we will dismiss Otello and depart towards Tuscania.
Thanks to the extraordinary presence of Etruscan remains, Tuscania is a centre of historical importance, The mystery, the occult and the magic can be perceived in the “Queen´s Grotto Labyrinth”, a very special Etruscan tomb which boasts a labyrinth of 26 tunnels (some of them not yet explored) that goes down to several meters underneath the soil. Probably this was not a funerary complex, but a place of sacred worship.
